A robot is a virtual or mechanical artificial agent. In practice, it is usually an electro-mechanical machine which is guided by computer or electronic programming, and is thus able to do tasks on its own. Another common characteristic is that by its appearance or movements, a robot often conveys a sense that it has intent or agency of its own.
ReplyDeleteLinda:
A cyborg, also known as a cybernetic organism, is a being with both biological and artificial (e.g. electronic, mechanical or robotic) parts
HUMANOID ROBOTS...
ReplyDeleteHumanoid robots are robots that are at least loosely based on the appearance of the human body. Most humanoid robots have a humanoid torso, two legs, two arms, and some form of a head. Some humanoid robots also include a face on the head, which can come in different degrees of expressiveness.
To become a human robot, few limited autonomous capabilities must be present, it should not just simply appear in the shape of a human. A simple calculator moved into a container that looked humanoid, for example, would not be a humanoid robot.
Humanoid robots are able to adapt to their environments to some extent, and are usually built with some form of learning system so that they can continue to progress and become better at the tasks they’re built for.

Sensors are devices that measure a physical quantity and convert it into a signal which can be read by the robot. Sensors include heat sensors, light sensors, pressure sensors e.t.c
ReplyDeleteSome of the capabilities
ReplyDelete-Detect contact between the robot and external objects like walls
-Detect contact with internal moving parts in the robot (arm or gripper).
*TableBot - detect contact with the ground so the robot doesn’t fall off the table.
*Input Device - push button or “remote” control
